About Teresa

I'm a certified teacher with 2 majors - a degree in Psychology and one in English, and I graduated from SFU's PDP program in 2004.

I was a technical trainer for many years and I now work as a Senior Employee Development Officer at Prospera Credit Union. I do a lot of project based instructional design training, both developing technical and soft skill courses for our employees. Recent courses I've worked on include sales, customer service, change management, and SharePoint. I'm also a certified True Colors facilitator and love delivering this session to our staff.

I've just completed the PIDP program with VCC and am now enrolled in the elearning certificate program to strengthen my instructional design skills in this area. I love elearning myself and see loads of potential and benefits with this route, although I am also a firm believer in using blended learning approaches, or instructor led, when appropriate.

I enjoy playing with technology and am eager to discover new tools that can benefit me in my current role at Prospera. I don't necessarily use a lot of social media myself, but see how it an benefit others.

Perhaps more importantly, I'm the mom of 2 boys - a 5 year old and 7 year old. They fill my life with early mornings, loud noises, and all the unconditional love I could want. While I grew up in Vancouver, I now live in Pitt Meadows and love my surroundings. I like to run, indoor climb, hike, read, and to spend time with my husband and kids.
